July Favourites
10:07
So its favourites time, I must admit these are one of my favourite posts - I love discovering new products but my bank definitely does not. This month's products fall more on the natural side, I've been enjoying the minimal look lately. Since I love to talk/ type, sit back with a tea or something because this is gonna be a long one.
The dermablend corrector stick, this has been a longtime favourite of mine. It was one of my first ever makeup products and I still love it today. It covers like dream- everything you want to cover this will do it- spots, dark pigmentation and redness. I love applying this to my problem areas and blending it in with a buffing brush (the real techniques expert face brush is my most used). This technique gives a median coverage but if you want full coverage instead of buffing it into the skin, press it in with your brush and that will give more of a full coverage affect.
I've never really been into brow products, to be honest it just seemed like to much work for me. I'm always about quick and easy makeup looks. When I initially pick up the brow artist plumper I was quite sceptical. After using it, it has now became my go to brow product- it adds a bit of colour to the brows (mine is in median/dark, it comes in two shades and one translucent), keeps the hairs in place all day and most importantly does not have that crispy affect that other brow gels have. I honestly don't even notice I have anything on.
The silk edition powder from Bourjois, when I first heard of this powder I was intrigued by the concept. Then I heard Amelia Liana talking about it in one of her videos and thats when I decided I had to try it. I think this is the perfect setting powder I just take a bit of it on a powder brush and dust it over my face - it does not look cake-y and keeps my makeup set throughout the day. Its also great as a powder foundation for those of you looking for a very light coverage - this will just even out your skin tone while looking very natural on the skin. This is not gonna cover spots or dark pigmentions - just a heads up. You can pick this up on Asos, I haven't seen it in a boots or super drugs yet.
I love this eyeshadow! I know it looks a bit scary, it is an orange after all. This is mac's Rule, I picked this up last month in duty-free and have been using it a lot more than I thought I would. My favourite way to use this, is taking it on a large blending brush (a little at a time) and blending it into the crease. It gives a nice warmth to any look you are doing. I like using this with browns to help create a gradient to the look.
This paint pot type product from maybelline, has quickly become apart of my makeup rotation. This one is in creamy beige and it is quite close in colour to my skin tone, I would say the finish is similar to a satin finish not quite a matte. It goes on the lid smooth with an even finish when applied with a finger which allows for quick and easy application, just blend into the crease with a clean finger and your done. If you want to step it up you can take a brown (something close to your face contour shade) and pop it into the crease and that will help to give more depth to your eyes. This product also works well as a base so you can also layer other eyeshadows on top of it.
Ok thats all of my favourites. I've gone on for long enough now, so thank you so much for reading.
I hope this was helpful to you.
